Exercises for Your Lunch Hour

So it’s lunchtime; you did well, you brought healthy food and you feel good about yourself. But what are you going to do with the remainder of your lunch break? Combat your temptations to snack with these simple exercises.

The first option is to take a walk. Go around the block and enjoy the weather, or visit the people who work upstairs if it’s raining outside.

Another good way to get a workout, even while you’re working, is to try an exercise ball. They come in many different sizes and you control how inflated they are for comfort. Simply inflate the ball and use instead of an office chair. Just balance your body on the ball and without realizing it, you’ll be burning calories while just sitting. Do pay attention to your body, though, and if you feel yourself getting tired or sore, switch back to your office chair for the remainder of the day.

Another great and healthy way to use your lunch break is to head to the grocery store. Take a walk to your local grocer and pick out some fresh fruits and vegetables for lunch. If you’ll be tempted to get unhealthy foods, bring a friend who knows about your weight loss goals for support. Make a fresh picnic and enjoy at your local park or at your desk.
