As obesity becomes more and more prevalent, it is becoming one of the leading health concerns among adults in the United States. At one time, smoking was the leading health concern for many Americans. But less Americans are smoking today after researchers found that smokers who engage in just a three minute chat with their doctor are significantly more likely to quit the habit. This study has people asking whether talking to their doctors about overeating could possibly help them shed extra weight. Surprisingly, having a short talk with your weight loss doctor in Bradenton may be just the thing to help you lose those unwanted pounds.

Weight loss has long been linked to the severity and duration of migraine pain, yet exact causes for the condition have remained hidden. Though medications can help to reduce the severity of migraines, a cure has remained elusive. Migraine sufferers diagnosed as overweight or obese have new reason to hope for relief, however. Recent research reveals that weight loss surgery can reduce the pain of migraines, eliminating them altogether in some instances.

Gestational diabetes is a type of diabetes that develops during pregnancy. Although it usually disappears after childbirth, gestational diabetes can cause an abnormally large fetus, which may require a cesarean section. It can also increase the risk of bleeding after child birth. Additionally, women who develop gestational diabetes are at an increased risk of being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes as they age. According to a study published in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, women who have weight loss surgery prior to getting pregnant reduce their risk of developing gestational diabetes.

Those throughout the Bradenton area know that the keys to successful weight loss include healthy food choices and regular exercise. However, many people overlook the importance of sleep. Insufficient sleep can become a significant problem when people sacrifice time for sleep to fit in more time for exercise, thus thwarting their efforts to lose weight.

Swollen, inflamed veins in the region around the anus are classified into two types of hemorrhoids depending on their location. Those on the outside of the anus, just under the skin, are external hemorrhoids. If located in the lower rectum, or anal canal, they are internal hemorrhoids. These may protrude, or prolapse, through the anus either temporarily or permanently.
